We are GFWC Contemporary Women of North County, part of an international group of women volunteers.  Our group is made up of women of all ages who share an interest in volunteering for a variety of causes in our community and meeting women with similar interests. We also have fun social events, a book club and craft (sewing, crocheting & knitting) activities.

Scholarship Opportunity 
for girls planning to attend Palomar College or Mira Costa Community College in the 2015/2016 school year.

For girls graduating from a North County high school in 2015:  Find eligibility requirements and the application here.  Completed applications must be received by April 15, 2015.

For girls currently attending Palomar or Mira Costa: Find eligibility requirements and the application here. Completed applications must be received by May 15, 2015.

Come Home to Casa

On April 2, Casa de Amparo is holding their 2nd Annual Come Home to Casa, an open house in support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Here are  some ways you can get involved:


  1. Drop off wish list items and tour the Casa Kids Campus on April 2nd.  RSVP to Laura Wilson.
  2. Buy items directly from their Amazon wish list.
  3. Host a drive at your home, office, or in your neighborhood.
  4. Give a cash gift.

If you are not able to make the open house and would like to provide something from the wish list, please bring it to the next CWONC meeting on March 9.


 “Toast the Troops”- A Wine Tasting Fundraiser

GFWC Contemporary Women of North County (CWONC) invite you to join us as we “Toast the Troops” at a wine tasting fundraiser on Thursday, May 14 from 6-9 PM.  Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres as you sample a selection of fine wines from North County’s newest winery, BKCellers- located at 2225 Barham Drive, Escondido (overflow parking on Opper Street).


$20 per person-pay at the door.  No reservations needed.  Proceeds will benefit programs for CWONC’s adopted Camp Pendleton unit- Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369 and CWONC’s scholarship for high school seniors to attend local community colleges.  Download the flyer here.
