These are a few of our projects for crafters who can help fill the needs of our charities.
Twisted Stitchers
Monthly gathering to knit, crochet and sew blankets, hats, scarves and make other craft items that will be given to local charities such as Helo Babies, Eagles Wings, Meals on Wheels, Casa de Amparo, the Veterans Clinic and the Vista Women’s Clinic. Members (or friends) who have a “crafty talent” are encouraged to teach a class or help with craft projects at home. Contact or with questions. You do not have to knit, crochet or sew to be of help. You can also just come to socialize. Check our Calendar of Events for date and time (on break for summer – next meeting in September).
Women Health Center of Greece Sew-Ins
Members get together 3 times a year at the San Marcos Community Center to sew items such as:
- Operation Smile (an International Outreach Project)- “no-no” arm bands, tote bags, and child-size hospital gowns.
- Blankets of Gratitude (a Public Issues Project) – lap size blankets for the military.
- Meals-on-Wheels (a Home Life Project) – colorful place mats to be distributed with meals.
No need to know how to sew…we have ironing, cutting and “stuffing” jobs available. What a team! Check our Calendar of Events for date and time. Contact with questions.
