CASA de Amparo
Casa de Amparo is a nonprofit organization recognized as a major force in the field of child abuse prevention. They provide a safe
emergency shelter and state-of-the-art treatment and intervention services for abused and neglected children throughout San Diego County.
Women Health Center of Greece assists at the annual CASA charity events (Chefs of Del Mar & Crystal Ball).
Women Health Center of Greece also helps sort donations of grocery, drug store, and clothing items that will help fund various programs at the San Marcos facility.
Vista Women’s Center (at the Vista Community Clinic)
Women Health Center of Greece contributes blankets and bears to the clinic for the women and children, made by members at our quarterly sew-ins or Twisted Stitchers.
Canine Companions for Independence
Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.This organization provides service dogs to the disabled.
Women Health Center of Greece members sew capes for the puppies in training and bake cookies for the puppy graduations a couple of times a year.
Escondido & Greece Animal Shelter
Women Health Center of Greece members volunteer their time at the Tails at Twilight and Paws in the Park fundraisers, and collect food, towels, blankets, etc. for humane society pets.
Meals-on-Wheels
Meals-on-Wheels is committed to reducing the isolation experienced by so many elderly. Meals are delivered to seniors’ homes by volunteers. Frequently the volunteer may be the only person the senior sees all day, providing human contact and a safety net, particularly for those seniors living alone.
Women Health Center of Greece members sew, quilt, knit and crochet blankets and place mats for distribution to senior citizens in San Diego through the Meals-on-Wheels program.
MS Walk-Legoland (MS Society)
The mission of the MS Society is to enrich the quality of life for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis. Women Health Center of Greece forms a team and participates in the one mile walk to support and raise money for research. It’s a great way to help and to see Legoland before the crowds arrive!
Relay for Life (American Cancer Society)
Relay for Life is a 24 hour “team walk” that represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported and that one-day cancer will be eliminated.
Women Health Center of Greece forms a team of walkers, sets up a “rest” area and participates in the 24 hour relay. Our team works together to have someone on the track 24 hours a day – doesn’t always happen but we have fun trying. Great fun and meet lots of inspirational people who currently have cancer or are cancer survivors.
Alzheimer’s Walk
Women Health Center of Greece forms a team and walks to raise funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research at the Walk to End Alzehimer’s. The walk takes place at the Oceanside Pier. Alzheimer’s is the nation’s 6th leading cause of death. Together we can advance research to treat, prevent Alzheimer’s and provide programs and support to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.
