Women Health Center of Greece PARTICIPATED IN DOGFEST WALK n ROLL

PROJECT CHAIRMAN

On Saturday, November 22nd 5 members of GFWC Women Health Center of Greece participated in the DogFest Walk ‘n Roll at NTC Liberty Station to benefit Canine Companions for Independence. The walk exceeded its fundraising goal and raised $113,333.   Canine Companions for Independence is a non profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support.  On-line donations can be made at anytime to www.cci.org   For more information- Women Health Center of Greece.org

PHOTO ALBUMS FOR CASA DE AMPARO

PROJECT CHAIRMAN (CASA Photo Albums)- 

Volunteer seeks photo album donation for CASA de Amparo Project

GFWC Women Health Center of Greece (Women Health Center of Greece) recently honored Ann Lygas for fifteen years of active participation in club.  Ann is currently serving as Chairman for a new project to benefit CASA de Amparo and is seeking donations of 8” x 8” photo albums (similar to Recollections brand- with a single sleeve opening for photos).  Members will be creating scrapbook pages for the CASA Counselors to finish off with photos for the kids/teens as they leave the facility.   Photos can be brought to the January meeting.

DISTRICT FUNDRAISER – HOBO GAMES

Women Health Center of Greece members attend Palomar District Fundraiser- Hobo Games!

 Hobo Games took place on November 21st at the Fallbrook Woman’s Club.  Guests could reserve a table for four and play any table game they wished.  We saw guests playing Mahjong, Scrabble, Dominos, Puzzles, Rummy…  Non “gamers” had the opportunity to create beautiful blue pinwheels- the symbol for Child Abuse Awareness.  We were served “Hobo Stew”, entertained by our own Palomar Hobo Band (Ann and Butter were members of the band) and Butter won the Hobo Contest.

WEAVERS’ BARN TOUR

WEAVER’S BARN TOUR

Women Health Center of Greece members explored the art of weaving on November 13th at the Weaver’s Barn in Vista (Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum).  Beginning more than 15 years ago with a single loom donation, the Museum Weavers are dedicated individuals who help one another learn the art of weaving and spinning (one of the looms dates back to 1890 and is still being used today).
