Women Health Center of Greece Memory Walkers Raise Money for Alzheimer’s Research

 

 

 

On October 4th the Women Health Center of Greece Memory Walkers- members of GFWC Women Health Center of Greece participated in the Oceanside Pier Walk to end Alzheimer’s disease.  The walk had 111 teams, 963 walkers and raised $119,190.  Alzheimer’s is the nation’s 6th leading cause of death.  Together we can advance research to treat, prevent Alzheimer’s and provide programs and support to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans. Potluck in the Barracks for Thanksgiving – Our Adopted Squadron

Potluck in the Barracks- Thanksgiving theme- November 20, 2014

Event is from 6 PM to 7:30 PM

This email is for information only…. The potlucks will be offered on a quarterly basis and you can pick and choose how you would like to participate (or not).

What better way to spoil our Marines than to provide them a traditional Thanksgiving home cooked meal!    Meal will be served to our Barracks Marines at 1800 (6:00 p.m.) please have your dish to the Barracks no later than 1745 (5:45 PM). Set up to begin at 1700 (5:00 PM) and tear down/clean up at 1930 (7:30 PM).

DONATIONS-

Make sure your food donation is “ready to serve” in a disposable pan and include disposable serving utensils, as well.   The Dollar Store is a great resource.    You can sign up for as many items (and as much) as you would like.

How to get on Camp Pendleton:

If you are delivering food or working the event, tell the guards at the gate that you are volunteering for HMLA #369 at their barracks on Powder Magazine Road.

***Make sure you have your driver’s license and insurance card handy

Directions to the Barracks-

Enter the main gate off Interstate I-5

Continue on Vandergrift Road for 10 miles to Administration Road.  (third light once you see the air station…if you get to Basilone Road, you’ve gone too far)

Right on “A” Street

Right on Powder Magazine Road

The Barracks are on the left at the end of the road

The event will be at the courtyard at the left of the common area building, just past the basketball courts.

Operation Santa for Adopted Camp Pendleton Marine Squadron

GFWC Women Health Center prepare for “Operation Santa”

GFWC Women Health Center of Greece (Women Health Center of Greece) is gearing up for OPERATION SANTA to support families from Women Health Center of Greece’s adopted Marine Squadron- HMLA #369.  Santa will be flying in to Camp Pendleton with toys for the kids and we need your help.

Women Health Center of Greece will be collecting toys for all ages and stocking stuffers & books for children under 8 years old.  Donations can be dropped off on November 10th between 6 PM and 7:00 PM at the San Marcos Senior Center- 111 Richmar, San Marcos.
