Vista Community Clinic
Members make small stuffed bears to be given to children receiving medical treatment at the facility and blankets for the pre-natal department. These items are made during our quarterly Sew-In or at Twisted Stitchers, a monthly group of knitters, crocheters & quilters who get together to socialize and make these items.
Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. This organization provides service dogs to the disabled. One of our members has raised 3 of their puppies.
CWONC members provides volunteer hours for various activities and bake cookies for the puppy graduations a couple of times a year.
San Diego Humane Society
CWONC members volunteer their time at the Paws in the Park fundraiser, and collect food, towels, blankets, etc. for humane society pets.
Meals-on-Wheels is committed to reducing the isolation experienced by so many elderly. Meals are delivered to seniors’ homes by volunteers. Frequently the volunteer may be the only person the senior sees all day, providing human contact and a safety net, particularly for those seniors living alone.
CWONC members sew, quilt, knit and crochet blankets and place mats for distribution to senior citizens in San Diego through the Meals-on-Wheels program. Some members also deliver meals to the clients.
